What to Wear for Family Photo Sessions- an Autumn guide
You have booked a family photo session and now the issue is: what the whole family is going to wear? The weather is changing and we are still living in unprecedented times so for most photographers, like myself, we are offering outdoor photoshoots. Autumn is a great time to have your outdoor family photo shoot. The light is softer and the colours are changing from vibrant green to lots of gold, red and orange. This season I want to help and guide you with what to consider for your session.
Big Jumpers
If you are organising a shoot for a Christmas card look, then big jumpers in neutral or dark colours work well. Consider your background as well.
Denim
That old classic, denim never retires from fashion. This is something the whole family can wear. It can be jeans, or a jackets or shirts. Try to mix it up but don’t be all the same. Here is a good opportunity to add colour especially those rustic autumn colours. Or add some checks which is the next suggestion.
Checks/Plaid
Checks also give Christmas look as well and bright colours are great for those autumn/winter styles. It doesn’t have to be a shirt it can used in skirt or simply a scarf.
Autumn colours
We all think of Autumn colours as mixture of red, orange, yellow and gold but this season’s colours are rose blush, green, magenta and deep blue with some light cream and light grey as well.
Accessories
Don’t forget to add accessories to your session like hats and scarves and think about your shoes, bright coloured boots or loafers or trainers.
Hope you find these ideas useful for when you book your outdoor session.
I am now taking bookings for Autumn/Winter outdoor sessions which can be at a location of your choice. Look out for my Christmas Mini session offers.
